IF warranty expired you can try can air spray or one those cleaning disc first (doubt the latter works but got nothing to loose) before spending $80 to get it fixed. Did work for a while, but after that the reponse from the console after putting in any game disc was - "An error has ........".
If the same message still appears, the Wii console may be damaged.
